Who We Are
ASCEND IS INDEPENDENT
Ascend Financial Advisers, Inc. (Ascend) is an Irvine, California financial advisor providing fee-only financial planning and investment management services to individuals, families and small businesses. The term fee-only refers to the method of compensation for Ascend. Fee-Only means Ascend is compensated solely by fees paid to by our clients, as we do not accept commissions as compensation from any non-client source.
Ascend is independent, meaning we have no outside entity to unduly influence our client advice, except our best research, thinking and judgment. Our independence enables us to select world class partners in the joint duty of managing our client's money. Ascend concentrates on client's financial planning issues and asset allocation (mix) decision, and sub-contracts the duties of security selection to various global institutional managers. In addition, mutual fund supermarkets like TD Waterhouse Institutional enable Ascend and our clients to enjoy substantial economies of scale in asset trading and custodial services. Ascend's clients are considered "institutional clients" with these partners, and we believe strongly that the combined breadth and cost effectiveness available from this method of building balanced, global portfolios is unmatched by any single service provider.
